Ricky's Lucky Nuts was founded upon the revelation that a perfect marriage of peanuts and spices could be created to bring something entirely new to the marketplace.

In 2006, my friend Rick, a fellow chef, shared a recipe with me for a seasoned, dry roasted peanut he called the "The Original Spiced Peanut." Upon tasting this nut, I was struck that this combination of spices and peanuts could embody such a unique taste sensation: savory, salty and sweet! The peanut was the perfect medium for the distinct spice blends and the spices were the perfect gourmet complement to this iconic nut.

Taking influences from my training in European and American kitchens and some great experienes traveling in Asia, Central America and Africa, I developed an entire line of seasoned peanuts, all based on a single, unique roasting method, and named the peanuts Ricky's Lucky Nuts in honor of my friend. My wife and business partner Carolyn Lamb came on board and a company was born.

Lots of people think that gourmet nuts don't include peanuts. They think of cashews and almonds as gourmet, but peanuts are the most popular nut in America and we are taking this iconic, All American peanut on a flavor adventure! We source our whole jumbo runner peanuts from Texas, where they are then blanched and shipped to the high mountains of Colorado. Here we combine with distinctive, all natural spice blends in our proprietary roasting process to create our unique flavor line.

Ricky's Lucky Nuts is all about creating a unique snacking experience. Always all natural, we believe that healthy snacking can still taste great. We keep our ingredient lists short and clean, delivering a delicious snack that is good for you too.

Our philosophy is to not contribute just another packaged snack product to a saturated marketplace, but to bring to market a snack nut that is all-natural and healthy, with no artificial ingredients of any kind; a snack that creates a memorable taste experience from honest, unadulterated ingredients We work with local or regional businesses to source much of our goods and services, thereby supporting our local economy and reducing our carbon footprint through reduced transportation distances.

We maintain country of origin on all of our spices as a matter of quality control and with our recent new flavor, Cocoa & Vanilla Bean, we have sourced organic, fair trade cocoa and organic vanilla extract. The fair trade aspect of the cocoa is of equal importance to us as the organic certification. Supporting small farmers and human rights along with the environment through our purchasing choices is part of our corporate responsibility mandate. As Ricky's grows we will continue to work towards sourcing more and more of our raw ingredients from sustainable sources.
