Goobers. That's what peanuts were once called, before the ingenious George Washington Carver brought the peanut from out of obscurity and into the spotlight of American culture and cuisine. Peanuts are as American as baseball and apple pie but are also loved around the world. So it occurred to us, it was high time the peanut got an all new, international makeover. It all started when my good friend Rick shared his special recipe for the Original Style Lucky Nut with me and has grown into an entire line of all natural U.S. grown blanched peanuts uniquely seasoned with spices from around the globe. We strive for quality, simplicity and goodness in each bag and we hope you too will find our peanuts to be “a nut like no other.”

FEBRUARY 24, 2009 UPDATE:
Ricky's Lucky Nuts has completed its recall and has sourced fresh USA grown peanuts from our new supplier, ranked 'superior' in third party inspections. We now have fresh roasted product ready to order! We always roast our own peanuts and always under strict quality control standards. All natural, dry-roasted, USA grown peanuts, coated in premium spices. We truly are a 'nut like no other!'

PRESS RELEASE (FEBRUARY 13, 2009):
On February 12, 2009, the Texas Department of Health Services issued a recall of all peanut and peanut products processed in, or shipped through, the Peanut Corporation of America (PCA), Plainview, Texas, processing plant.

As of the issuance of this press release the U.S. Food & Drug Adminstration (FDA) has not issued a separate statement in support of, or contrary to, the Texas recall. In an abundance of caution, Ricky's Lucky Nuts has elected to voluntarily recall all peanut products produced by our company with any expiration date on or before October 1, 2009. This includes all flavors of our dry-roasted peanuts packaged in 12 ounce unit packages and 2 ounce unit packages.

We have already secured a new supplier for our premium USA-grown peanuts and will have fresh product stocked on store shelves at all of our retail accounts within the next few weeks. Please keep an eye out for new product. Ricky's Lucky Nuts first concern is always for quality assurance and consumer protection.
